Islands are not only an attractive holiday venue, they can certainly be interesting spots. These islands in Bass Strait, are mostly the remains of previous mountain tops now drowned, most probably by the sinking of land in Bass Strait, rather than the rising of the ocean. The doomsday prophecies of global warming have nothing on the evidence of how much the sea level has raised or lowered in previous times.
